Hello! Well it is summertime for me here in Washington! The rain has mostly dissappeared for a while and it has been sunshiny for the longest time. I even got a tan working (or lack there of). With family visiting and the vacation going it has been really busy. Just a few weeks ago I got back from Alaska with my dad and twin sister (we met my grandpa and uncle up there). We spent a week fishing and camping up there. IT was A BLAST! I loved it! We fished for Halibut and caught a total of 136 pounds of which, of which our family got 40 pounds...it is amazing! It tastes almost like chicken...We drove the Alaskan highway there and back, which was an Amazing experience! A day after we got back my twin and I packed up to go to a LDS youth Pioneer trek. Which was a trip I would do over again if I got the chance. We pushed and pulled handcarts which wayed up to 300 to 400 pounds! I was amazing!
I have not been able to do alot of cakes which I am sad for but it is alright. :) I have been able though to do one for a friend of our family, it was a golf themed cake-which turned out interesting. It tasted good and looked cute, and I guess that is all that matters. But to me it could have looked better, (but that is what we all say about our work). Well I should get going! Till I write again,

Hello again!
It has been a while since my last post. But all is well, this quarter in school I am taking: Math 99- an amazing class I have learned so much in it. ASL- or American Sign Language, I love this course! Sign language is so much fun, and learning about the Deaf culture is a blast also. The third class I am taking is Survey of British Literature. This class is a blast! I love it! So far we have read, Beowulf, Merchant of Venice, Canterbury Tales, Frankenstein, and the last book (which we are currently reading) is Bloody Chamber. I cannot say which was my favorite, for I enjoyed them all! In the following Fall '10 quarter I am taking four courses: US History, Environmental Science, English 101, and Class voice. I am very excited for them all!
Besides my schooling that has taken place, I have only been able to do one other cake, which was a Birthday cake for a friend of mine. It was a chocolate cake with cream cheese mousse filling inside. It was simple yet nice. I hope in the future that I can be able to do more cakes! But times are busy and other things come along.
So until next time that I write....

Getting Started
Hello I am Colby Twitchell!
I am a 17 year old that loves to do cake decorating! I have been doing cake decorating now for a little over a year and I have made a cake for a wedding, which was just last December '09. I have also made cakes for Birthdays, Valentines and for Just Because. I am just a beginner and I hope to be able to improve my cake decorating skills as I continue them. This year I am in the Running Start program at my school, in which I go to the college nearby and take classes there. It is a ton of fun! And I am glad that I chose to do this. The classes that I am taking right now are Western Civilizations, English 101, Math, and a P.E class-walk, jog, run. It is hard to say which is my favorite but right now it is History. I have always enjoyed history and I hope I always will. The other activities that I love to do are to read, play ultimate frisbie (when I get the chance) , write stories and also much more.
